By 2009, we want our workforce to better reflect the communities we serve and an environment where our people all feel valued and comfortable to be themselves. We will provide new facilities, including places for prayer and quiet reflection. We will also have made every reasonable provision to help disabled people work more efficiently, whether we’re investing in new ICT or taking steps to ensure the offices of public service providers we visit are accessible.
Bullying, harassment, unfair treatment and unlawful discrimination will all be things of the past and this will extend to our relationship with suppliers and organisations we work with.
Finally, our workforce will be knowledgeable, confident and well informed in all aspects of equality and diversity. That way, they can act as advocates, promoting equality and eliminating harassment and discrimination in the course of their work.
