Trust Practice

The Audit Commission’s Trust Practice is the largest supplier when it comes to external audits and related professional services. The new Foundation Trust framework has seen power devolve from central Government to Trusts themselves, with subsequent strategic and budgetary responsibilities becoming localised to better meet diverse regional needs. Though the Foundation Trust system allows local health authorities more freedom to meet the needs of service users, with autonomy comes increased financial responsibility.

We work closely with both Foundation Trusts and aspiring Foundation Trusts, helping to ensure they remain financially stable as they exercise their new powers. Acting as a partner , we audit Trusts’ financial performance, making recommendations, disseminating best practice and developing initiatives to ensure taxpayers’ money goes further. We also support the development of trusts as they prepare to become a Foundation Trust and then continue to support them afterwards.
