As well as carrying out value-for-money studies as part of its audit work, the Audit Commission runs a research programme, covering a whole range of services including health, housing, social care, police, fire and education. We work with the people that run the services and with the people that use them too. And we share our results widely by publishing reports, running events and making information available on the internet. Our national studies aim to improve public services by spreading good practice. But they also let the public know how services are performing.
